Wojciech Szewczyk Triumphs in Kętrzyn! 243rd Predator Pol Tour Grand Prix Behind Us

Following record-breaking events in Gdańsk and Łódź, the elite of Polish billiards gathered in Kętrzyn and Mrągowo. Out of over 90 competitors, Wojciech Szewczyk (GKS Katowice) emerged unrivaled in the 9-ball discipline.

It took 182 matches to determine the winner of this year's third tour stop. The field included top-ranked players such as Radosław Babica and Mariusz Skoneczny. Szewczyk dominated the group stage with three decisive wins. His toughest challenge came in the playoffs against young talent Wojciech Głąb, where the former World Champion narrowly escaped with a 6-5 victory in a hill-hill thriller.

In the final, Szewczyk delivered a masterclass, defeating Patryk Statkiewicz (Strefa Diamond Gdańsk) 6-0. This marks Szewczyk’s 14th career Grand Prix title. Despite the loss, it was a milestone for Statkiewicz, who celebrated his first-ever Pol Tour final.

The competition and the opening ceremony were honored by the presence of the Mayor of Kętrzyn, Karol Lizurej. Symbolic diplomas were presented by EEBC President Marcin Krzeminski to Balas Alexandru, President of the Romanian Billiard Clubs Association, and Jurie Betivu, President of the Moldovan National Billiard Sports Association. J. Nowak won an international tournament for the first time. He was deeply moved by this success. In the wave of emotion, he forgot to collect the high cash prize. He only realized it after a call from the organizer. Big applause to the juniors who finished 9th in this tough competition: Mark Szabo (SVK), Evan Hermaneu (ROM), and Adam Feco (SVK). A special prize - a Cuetec cue-case  was won by Koleś Balazs (SVK).
Thanks to the hosts: Josef Czirjak-Levente and Alexandru Balas, and the refereeing and media teams.
Romania 9-Ball was a first event of 2026 Dynamic Billard Best of the East. 107 players from Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Moldova, Hungary and Romania took part in it.

EEBC Junior Champion won the EEBC Junior Cup in Slovakia. Mistrz juniorów EEBC wygrał Puchar EEBC na Słowacji.

Mark Szabo (SK) won the EEBC Junior Cup in Slovakia. Player from Topolcany beat Bartłomiej Milewski (POL) 6:4 in a final. 3th places have got Dominik Demel (CZ) and Adam Skulec (SK). 37 players from Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia played in the tournament.
"The Slovak Billiard Association did a very good job as host. Competitors received free drinks and cakes. Prizes were awarded to the top eight finishers" told Krzysztof Waszak - director of the EEBC International Billiard Academy. During junior tournaments, we strive to maintain a positive atmosphere. Our young players not only compete but also develop friendships. I would like to thank president Lukaś Kovać, referee Daniel Lang, EEBC vice president Samuel Koniar and president Alex Balas for their excellent cooperation - told Marcin Krzemiński -EEBC president.

Radosław Babica won the Grand Prix of Poland in Billiard Predator Pol Tour 8-Ball. He defeated Szymon Kural 6-3 in the final. Wojciech Szewczyk and Hubert Łopotko won the bronze medals. The tournament featured 189 players from Poland, Georgia, Germany, and Ukraine.

Budget and Sports.

The EEBC Board adopted the organization's budget for 2026. According to the draft, over 80% of the funds will be allocated to the sports program. Administration and financial support will account for approximately 20%.

The board also discussed major sports activities and cooperation with the Romanian and Moldovan federations.

 

Budżet i sport.

Zarząd EEBC przyjął budżet organizacji na 2026 rok.  Zgodnie z projektem na program sportowy przeznaczonych jest ponad 80% środków finansowych. Administracja i obsługa finansowa wyniesie ok. 20 %.

Zarząd rozmawiał także o głównych akcjach sportowych i współpracy z federacjami Rumunii i Mołdawii.

The inauguration of this year’s Grand Prix of Poland Predator Pol Tour in Gdańsk is officially behind us. As it turned out, this opening 10-ball tournament—held for the first time at the Strefa Diamond club—delivered a historic result: for the first time in his career, Konrad Juszczyszyn (Royal Bytom) has won a Grand Prix Polski cycle event.

Medalists were a top Polish pool players:

3. Wojciech Szewczyk and Hubert Łopotko.

Total competed 173 players.

Konrad Juszczyszyn pierwszym liderem w 2026 roku. 

Konrad Juszczyszyn z Royal Bytom został zwycięzcą pierwszego w tym sezonie turnieju Grand Prix Polski w Bilard Predator POL TOUR. Zawody odbyły sie w klubie Strefa-Diamond w Gdańsku, a uczestniczyła w nich rekordowa liczba uczestników – 173 osoby. W finale Konrad pokonał 6:5 Mariusza Skonecznego z Fortisu Kielce. Brązowe medale wywalczyli: Wojciech Szewczyk ( GKS Katowice) oraz Hubert Łopotko ( Biała Podlaska).

 Juszczyszyn od wielu lat startuje w Grand Prix Polski i nie mógł do tej pory poszczycić się zwycięstwem w tym rankingowym polskim turnieju. A przecież ma na koncie m.in. zwycięstwo w Pucharze Świata i tytuł Mistrza Europy.

Ogólnie w turnieju dominowali rutyniarze. Za dobry start można pochwalić zajmujących 5 miejsce: Wiktora i Mieszka Fortuńskiego, Radosława Babicę i Dmitrija Hryba.

W imprezie pojawiło się wielu nowych zawodników, którzy po raz pierwszy próbowali sił w głównej krajowej rywalizacji.

Predator Group is a new general sponsor of the Grand Prix of Poland Predator POL TOUR series. Mak Marketing and EEBC will organize six pool national ranking events. The first competition will be held in Strefa-Diamond Club in Gdansk in days January 10-11. 

Grupa Predator jest nowym generalnym sponsorem cyklu Grand Prix Polski w Bilard POL TOUR.  W 2026 roku Mak Marketing i East European Billiard Council planują organizację sześciu turniejów zaliczanych do polskiego rankingu. Pierwsze zawody odbędą się w klubie Strefa-Diamond w Gdańsku w dniach 10-11 stycznia.

For over 100 participants in the EEBC Junior Championship, their stay in Rękoraj will be a memorable experience for years to come. The hosts gave the players and their chaperones a royal welcome. A huge thank you to the team from the Primary School, UKS Snikers, the Moszczenica Municipality authorities, and the provincial government. Team leader Bogusław Bereżny and school director Zbigniew Tuta ensured the tournament was beautifully organized. The ladies working in the school kitchen cooked expertly. The accommodations at the Górski Hotel in Polichno were also satisfactory. Among the 64 players were representatives of seven countries: Romania, Albania, Serbia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. For these young people, the international sporting event was a true celebration.

After the first phase of the tournament, where teams competed in groups, the top 32 players were selected. They comprised 16 Poles and 16 foreigners. The quarterfinalists were announced in the subsequent matches played the following day.

In the medal matches, the following results were recorded:
