Darren Appleton (GB), Aditya Mehta (IND), Chien Yu Chou (TPE) and Marco Zanetti (ITA) became the gold medalists of billiard competition in Wolrd Games in Cali.

64 players started in Colombia. 16 ladies and 16 men played pool and 16 men played each carom and snooker. Billiard was one of 34 disciplines played during World Games. Few thousands athletes from over 100 countries came to Cali. In opening ceremony took part the president of IOC. About 40.000 spectators were watching and applaused the march of the teams. The wonderful dance and musical show together with fireworks impressed the participants of the event. Over 200.000 spectators watched the competition in several sport objects.

The hall for billiard competition - "Coloseum" could set only 550 funs and the tickets were sold many days before the start of the event. The tournament was played in ply-off system on 4 tables - 2 for pool, 1 for snooker and 1 for carom. Ladies were playing 9-ball in system race to 9 and men race to 11. In carom men were playing 3-cushion to 40 points and in snooker to 3 won freims. The sport side of the tournament were taking care the sport drector of World Confederation of Billiard Sports (WCBS) - Farouk Elbarky from Egypt and WCBS board member - Marcin Krzeminski from Poland.
